Small private campground in the Blue Ridge foothills not for from Lale Lure with a saltwater pool that we didn't get to use because of the season. Cell service is spoty (Verizon & AT&T, both) althoughwe did get a signal at times with our weBoost. The campground has free wifi that wssn't too bad, but don't plan on streaming video. The camp host, Jennie, was VERY nice.
Went for the weekend with my daughter and son in law and all six grandkids. It was very rustic but that was great. Enjoyed it until the owners locked grandkids out of bath house so no shower could be taken. Quiet hours are from 11pm to 8am. It was 9 15 pm. The pool closed at 7 pm. I have never been to a camp site that the bathhouse was ever closed. The pool closed at 7 pm it wasn't even dark. Nothing for the kids to do after pool closed. Needless to say we will not return. The lady that met us as we drove in was very friendly. She was the camp host. But owners were very rude. The price was $40 a night, that was very expensive for nothing to do. I don't want to give it 1 star but I guess I have to. Btw., If it rains you will be in a field with mud puddles and slick red mud. I'm still washing mud out of everything. Drive should have gravel and maybe some where the puddles are so bad. Main thing is only two bathrooms 1 women and 1 male. And then to lock it so no one can use it!
This campground is very rustic which we enjoyed. It was close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Unfortunately the owners were very rude and actually locked the bath house at 915 pm when my children were headed to take a quick shower after wading in the creek. They were told that it closed when the office did. I have never been to a campground where the only restrooms closed at all much less at 915 pm. Needless to say we will never stay at this campground again and will never recommend it to anyone!
I had to cancel my reservation due to a family emergency. The cancellation was 24 hours in advance. Initially, they only refunded about 1/3rd of what i paid. After a lot of debate, we 'settled ' on them charging me $120 for absolutely nothing.
It is a beautiful campground. Great place but the people helping to run it (who are living there for free) provide terrible customer service.
This campground has beautiful mountain views. It is also close to Lake lure/Chimney Rock with tons of outdoor things to do. The owner is very nice and very helpful. They have a new salt water pool, but it is closed-- due to us staying in the off season. They currently have 8 full hook-up sites, 8 water/electric only sites and several tent camping sites. The sites are level and have gravel as the base in the RV sites. The bathhouse is nice and well kept. The picnic tables are weather worn, but the owner is in the process of replacing them. He made sure we got a new one when he got the first batch delivered. I have enjoyed staying here with my family and have recommended this campground to my friends and family.
